This Concept Home was developed for the Redlands Mesa Golf Course Community located in Grand Junction Colorado. Design Guidelines developed for this community encourage creative individual statements reflective of Colorado's rural High Desert environment. The design of the home is a simple L-shape configuration of two single story wings anchored by a two-story volume containing an expansive Great room and Loft above. One wing contains the Garage/Utility functions and the other dual Bedroom Suites. The massing of the home is composed of interlocking volumes stepping in and out of the landscape creating outdoor courtyard rooms, lending visual interest and depth, and harmonizing with the natural environment. Materials consist ashlar-laid stone, smooth stucco and cedar all on colors which relate to the landscape.
